Our Mission

to Christ’s Healing and Grace”

The presence we seek to connect people with is Christ’s presence… CHRIST was, is and will be the manifestation of God’s presence with us on earth.

Whether single or married, with or without children, we see our “FAMILY” as including all in the family of God, and we are an informal, comfortable “family” here at Southern Heights United Methodist Church. We relate to each other in meaningful ways.
- FAITH is our foundation and gives us the exceptional ability to hold fast to the truth of God in Jesus as the Christ. We hold on to our identity in Christ in the face of any crisis or challenge, and we share our stories with each other as a way of building and strengthening the faith of those we share our lives with.
- CONNECTING describes how we reach out to others, witness to the presence of God in our midst, nurture and strengthen them in the Christian faith and equip and train them to be sent out into the world as disciples and apostles for Jesus Christ.

In this way, we seek to connect ALL persons (those in our community, in Leavenworth County, the Kansas City Metropolitan area and the World) with Christ’s loving, saving activity in our midst!

HEALING is nurture and care toward wholeness. God intends for all to be whole, and as such works miracles of physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological healing. Healing takes many forms, and is evidence of God’s power in our lives.

GRACE is the undeserved nature of God’s redeeming, agape love. It goes before we are even aware of God’s presence and activity in our lives, helps us to commit our lives to God’s good and life-giving purposes and helps us to grow in holiness and grace throughout our lives as we seek to create God’s kingdom here on earth.
